Is almost impossible to determine the origin of the vine, however it is assumed that some plants developed what is known as weather shelters. The most important, in Asia, was called Caucasian Refuge and from there spread to Europe, Africa and Mediterranean countries.
The vine growing in France is the effect of creating the Roman Empire under the command of Julius Caesar who, in his struggle against the gauls, felt the need to promote the cultivation of the vine to root the population and defend the places conquered.
In Spain, the grape was born in ancient times, when the phoenicians, who came from the East where the cultivation of this plant was developed, occupied the area of Andalusia. Then, it was expanded around the country but in the final deployment occurred when the Catholic Monarchs made it an essential element of religious rites.
Italy, in 1870, once the final constitution of unity achieved, with an eye towards an ambitious future, focused on the development of its economic resources creating intelligent public policy programs. Among the activities to be developed, the wine industry got great relevance.
