It includes the provinces of Salta, Catamarca, La Rioja and Tucumán. Torrontés is the predominant variety in this area and comprises two subregions: Calchaquies valleys and Chilecito and Nonogasta region.
It is considered the most important wine region of the country. Its territory is divided between the valleys of San Juan and the five sub-regions of the province of Mendoza.
Located in the Province of Río Negro, it is a vast valley which rises at the foothills of the Andes and extends itself into the conjunction of the Neuquén and Limay Rivers.
