The Open Wineries is a national solidarity meeting that is held every year during the month of May to promote wine tourism in Argentina as part of a charity event for social action. It is organized by Bodegas de Argentina and has the support of Villavicencio and the participating wineries.
Through this proposal different wineries in Mendoza province are visited. Solidarity projects with which we collaborate are changing year to year, and some of the favored organizations have been Pinta Argentina, Conin, Association Win, Home Cuna del Sol, Caritas, Volunteers Association Mendoza for Children and Family and Trinitarias Communities.
For a whole day, previously selected wineries are visited. Participants choose wineries to visit and put together their own itinerary, with limited places, and then they hold confirmed reservations by e-mail. Monetary contribution to the organization of social action is performed once in the cellar. Many places also offer gastronomic proposals, at special prices for the event.
Of course: you can also make tasting of several wines at each winery. The event also promotes the Wine In Moderation program, which promotes the consumption of wine in moderation. The designated driver is awarded in each place for the responsibility to lead the group of a warehouse to another. For those who do not have own mobility, the municipality provides free transportation with limited capacity.
