Casarena opened its doors in 2007, after the complete restoration of a century-old winery, which still retains its facade, now destined exclusively to the production of premium wines.
This project has four wine vineyards, which make up a total of nearly 300 hectares (160 planted) located in the districts of Agrelo and Perdriel in the region of Luján de Cuyo, at an altitude of 950 meters, where the winery has planted varieties: Malbec , Cabernet Sauvignon , Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot , Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, with vines aged 5 , 20 and 80 years old.
The old building which now houses Casarena was completely renovated and suitable for operation of a winery winemaking art that combines the best of traditional production process with the latest innovations in technology. The winery currently has a vintage room equipped with the latest technology from France, press white and red wines , pumps, stemmer and a double sorting table grapes with gravitational management, which prevents skin damage and rupture of film. Thus, the temperature increase is avoided and whole grains reach the fermentation vessel, assuring health, cleanliness and varietal purity.
The current capacity of the warehouse is 650,000 liter concrete tanks coated with epoxy and equipped with a system of cold / heat, which helps prevent temperature changes during the fermentation process. It also has a capacity of 175,000 liters in stainless steel and a room specially designed to house 400 French oak barrels, with controlled and programmed temperature humidification system to maintain quality of the wood.
