The province of Mendoza offers many options for winter sports. It has three important centers renown, and in the northwest of the province, west of Mendoza, two were located that offer many options for visitors: Vallecitos Ski Resort and Ski Center Penitentes
VALLECITOS
Vallecitos Ski Centre is located just 80 km from the city of Mendoza. It is accessed through Potrerillos, which connects Mendoza through the Provincial Route 82. Located at the foot of the Cordon del Plata in the Andes. Cord reach the 6300 meters high at its highest point and is visited by climbers from all over the world, every year.
It is performed both skiing and snowboarding, in a total of 11 tracks. In skiing, alpine styles, background and national competition practiced. The center also has a restaurant, four shelters, equipment rental and a ski school, where visitors are instructed need guidance.
PENITENTS
As to the Penitentes Ski Center, it is located 182 km from the city of Mendoza, and only a few km from the border with Chile. Accessed through National Route No. 7. Both the center and the Villa Los Penitentes are the basis of accommodation for climbers who made expeditions to Aconcagua.
Sports are practiced mainly Skiing and Snowboarding, but the center also has a park and Tubing Park Warblers with lifting gear. The styles include alpine skiing, nordic, competition and extreme. As for the snowboard, freestyle, freeride and extreme is performed. All it performed in a total of 25 tracks spread across the campus.
