From start at Horcones in Aconcagua beach parking, go by mule trails in the Vacas ravine to cross route 7 under the bridge making a loop through an old bridge, then along the left bank of the river to Puente del Inca (km4) Ph 1. Continue to the Andinistas Cemetery where you will then go downstream along trails until you cross the Mendoza River through a suspension bridge (km8) PH2. From here there is a steep ascent through the Vargas ravine to the area of Las Vegas where the trail goes more calmly following the river and crossing it on 2 occasions by stone bridges. You will reach the Grajales Refuge (Km 14) PH 3. From this refuge, after stocking up, you ascend to Cerro Penitentes by its traditional path, but long before reaching its summit, you deviate at a pre-peak of 3800 masl and return by a haul to the Quebrada de Vargas can pass if they wish for the refuge (km17) PH 4. It is returned by the ravine to the Mendoza River (Km 23) PH5. By the roads to Puente de Inca (km 27) PH 6. Continue along the tracks to the Vacas stream and there ascend mule trails up to Horcones, continuing to the Durazno Bridge (km 34). Finally, Horcones is returned to on arrival .
