The off-road racing classic of Mendoza has been in the provincial calendar for 17 years (started in 2001), organized by the Club de Eventos, a company with 15 years of experience, dedicated to the organization of Sports Events, with the main service being the of Logistics and Infrastructure but with the main objective of raising awareness about the importance of preserving the environment and the benefits of leading an active sports life.
Each new edition is presented as a nice opportunity for trail lovers to participate in a series of races that combine demanding circuits and beautiful landscapes, in an environment conducive to healthy competition and sporting camaraderie and that in each new date are more the running teams from different places in the province, such as Malargüe, San Rafael, the Uco Valley and, obviously, the Great Mendoza that join this event.
It consists of three dates (with a probable fourth) that will award points for, in the end, consecrate a champion. Each of the proposed chapters offer two competitive distances (20K and 10K) and a participatory 5K in four different modes and the inevitable Kids, for the youngest who want to follow the sporting example of their elders.
The three proposed circuits are: Altos La Crucesita, which is located 30 km southwest of the city of Mendoza, is accessed by the RP82 or Panamericana that goes to Cacheuta, when entering the town of Las Compuertas department of Las Heras , about 400 meters to the right is the entrance road to the post, are 6 km of land and uphill, with 380 meters of unevenness, this road has no technical requirements, but requires a bit of effort to reach the goal. It is a good training circuit for larger objectives such as RP13 or RP52.
The second date was made starting from the Hotel Termas de Cacheuta located on the provincial route N ° 82. From here start the competitors who face a test drawn taking advantage of each of the elements that this mountainous geography offers, but without doubts, located in one of the most beautiful places of our province. Thus the first obstacle faced by the participants is the river in its spring, then its passage through the dike and a path that brings them to the Hotel Termas de Cacheuta, to then face downstream a costering without equal. Stones, sand, mud, plus the natural challenge of the relief test the technical capacity that each of them.
Finally, the end of this championship takes place in Blanco Encalada, a town in the Sierras de Encalada district, belonging to the department of Luján de Cuyo. Departure and arrival is the Bentancourt rafting site, the route of about 12 km is developed by a path on the north side of RP82 to the edge of Cerro Camellos, then a little bit by road and continues along the river Mendoza to return to the starting base.
