It begins at Emilio Civit Avenue, and then the Park General San Martin is visited. This is an “oasis within the oasis”, planned by the architect Carlos Thays, with its already classic entrance gates, with its charming lake, beautiful sculptures, and water fountains, well kept gardens, a variety of clubs with restaurants, and fast food places.
Following along Avenida del Libertador, you can visit the Provincial Stadium, get to the University Campus, and to the Aboriginal Park, or continue towards the Cerro de la Gloria, where the Monument to the Liberation Army will impress the tourists.
From the park there are two options that can be done after lunch:
a) A visit to the Provincial Zoo: nestled at the foot of Cerro de la Gloria, which requires three hours for a complete visit. In its vicinity there is the Convention Centre of UCIM fair, where there are selected exhibitions.
b) A visit to the tourist village El Challao: with the Virgen de Lourdes del Challao, place where crowds gather in religious processions. There are two campgrounds, food service, discoteques, and a drive-in movie theatre. You can also combine a circuit to the Cristo de los Cerros.
