Last Saturday, in the department of San Martin, Mendoza, evaluation of wines from this (Codevin) area was performed again. More than 200 people attended the wine evaluation directed, in which the best 13 samples chosen by the committee were tested taster. For the 14th edition of the assessment and guided tasting of wines from this region 110 samples from 31 wineries were presented. Represented 30% white wines that scored an average of 86 points, while 70% of the red samples obtained an average of 86 points also. With this result the East has maintained an average of the last two vintages where the wines earned scores between 84 and 86 points. When we tasted the Bonarda, I thought that this type of varietal we should place our file as a representative of the variety, said expert Claudia Quini sensory analysis. I believe that the continued quality of the submitted wines is growing and one of the details that caught my attention was the fact that the production per hectare has decreased, showing that they are working from the vineyard. Guillermo Garcia, president of INV during tasting concurred with the results of the tasting and said the strategic vision of winemaking requires a long-term, the quality of the wines will allow us to have a good position in the world. Therefore, it is not surprising that we get to 1,000 million dollars in exports, for this the INV with the private sector must implement a mechanism to improve quality.
