This competition awards points for the MTB Provincial Championship and the classic Toyota Yacopini local championship. This is the long-awaited Desafío a los Senderos, which has the General San Martín Park as its starting point. A competition expected by all bikers.
The start is at Puesto Atamisqui, Calle Segundo Sombra, passing 2km La Posta Sanitaria 515, Godoy Cruz. It is a race in rally mode of 21 and 37 km depending on the category.
From the starting point, the layout forces the competitors to go west on Second Street Sombra. A few meters from the road you enter the North by a well-marked trail. From there, you quickly reach the crossroads 2 and go with a tendency to descend directly to the light path. Then you take the south arm to the left directly to the Frías, the climb of the sign is done again, perfect to climb it pedaling, you go through the talquer road to La Teresita. In the descent of the Colony it is advisable to take the braked bike from the beginning because it takes a lot of speed and there is a step in the final part. All the ascent of the path and until the descent of the river the passage is very fluid and is in excellent condition. When you get to the pigsty, the adrenaline and the real wear begin because from there and to the spiked pipe you never stop going up. Then comes the descent in the dry river where the endurance of the upper train begins, from this point are about 10 kms very exhausting of a lot of trails, a lot of handling, anaerobic with constant changes of rhythm so you have to regulate the pace to get strong to this part. You get to the crossroads 2 again and you get to Segundo Sombra street again, where the starting place is. According to those who have traveled this route, up to 80 kg of weight is advisable about 28 pounds and between 80 kg and 100 kg about 35 pounds. Lubricate always with moist lubricant well enough because it goes through enough water. For those who go with Egle monoplate, the ideal is to use 34T plate. For those who go with the 46th pinion, use a 32T or 34T plate. For pinion 42, plate 30T or 32T.
After all the aforementioned, you can already guess that the selected trails require physical and especially technical. It is a challenging race from start to finish, very fast, technical and very hard. But for the same reason, this combination of different soils, height and its natural difficulties give it a “mystical” flavor, so it does not matter in what position it is reached, because if you reach the goal you will have fulfilled one of your biggest objectives in off-road bicycle races receiving the title of professional BIKER.
