In the area of Valle Grande develops “Cerro Victoria Challenge”, competition where the best athletes of the region participate, which brings together every year from the southern provinces and other departments.
The competition is organized by Esfuerzo Deportivo, a company specialized in creating chips for runners.
The race offers two possibilities of participation of 12 and 6K.
The main 12-kilometer test consists of a descent to about kilometer 3. Then the athletes must make a brief but very hard climb, with a vertical drop of 70 meters. Near kilometer 6, they will descend quickly to reach a broad, gently sloping path to the base of the hill. From kilometer 7 they will have to walk / jog (running on this stretch is for few athletes) to the paragliding beach. At that point (at kilometer 8.5) competitors will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery as well as the services of the organization. In addition there will be a special seasoning with a “Mountain Goal”.
Following the road and shortly before reaching kilometer 9, the runners pass through the maximum height of Victoria. From there, the descent will be constant and at times vertiginous. A great adventure for lovers of this sport.
