As part of the national calendar of cycling competitions, in the month of April the traditional competition of mountain biking, Desafío Portinari, which takes place consecutively since 2010, takes place in our province, having as its meeting point the base of the Return Monument to the Homeland of General José de San Martín, located in the Los Chacayes district, in the Historic Manzano of Tunuyán.
It is the oldest race the province has and because it is one of the competitions with the highest altitude in the country, it attracts not only the local riders, but also the most outstanding bike racers from all over the country. The route consists of stretches of dirt road, with a unique landscape of mountain, snow and river.Conjugando history, tourism and sport. A competition that is exceeded year after year in number of competitors trying to reach the difficult goal.
