Los Altos Valles del Plata need to strengthen and define an identity that has been growing in recent years and is currently at a crucial stage. An area with many resources in natural beauty for tourism is bound to grow almost bound manner. All attraction developing requires defining clear guidelines and where to aim. In September 2011 the protected area was declared Natural Area. This hierarchy officially acquired suggests an intention and an interesting north to a type of tourism that is identified with caring for the environment. Nurture and protect is a very broad concept and will need to shred and polish more specific concepts in several areas. One is the luminaire. 99.9% of the tourists arrive in large cities and surrounding areas. There the energy waste through lighting is uncontrolled and the proof is that during the night in a big city is almost impossible to distinguish a single star in the sky. There is a tendency to extend this waste to every corner of the planet with the argument that we must civilize. But it should be clear that to achieve a good level of lighting is first necessary to know what is intended to illuminate. There are two very graphic cases in the area. One is the public lighting in the Villa Potrerillos, for others too, where much of the light output points to the sky, which not only wastes energy but also blocks the beauty of the night sky. The second case is the projected access boulevard Valle del Sol street lighting. Luminaires Here are low in height and intensity and limited to allow pedestrian traffic without much of a flashlight or a car with your low beams on (mandatory). If you want to prioritize a complex of cottages is likely to be achieved more efficiently by concentrating the light on the walls and not on all the space around, preventing passers enjoy the depth of a haloed starry sky. The act of placing powerful searchlights to nowhere from a house in the valley does not guarantee safety. The problems of insecurity in the area have been burglaries in temporarily vacant houses, and this has nothing to do with the degree of illumination environment. It would be nice that when you think of the valley not illuminate concepts and customs of the great civilized city imposed. Arq.
