He was the first to summit Mount El Plata in the 20s A hill of Cordon del Plata immortalized his name. The first ascent of Mount El Plata occurs on January 21, 1925 and starring Austrian mountaineer Hans Stepanek, from the hill Plata – Vallecitos. On the 25th of that month Stepanek repeated the feat with Peters Francisco. Few knew of its existence and what is known comes from Plantamura, Link and others in the 30s and 40s John or Hans Stepanek is also the first victim of the Aconcagua “stone guard” in a 1926 issue of the year there was born in Austria and settled in the city of Rosario. Gossler returned for work and began the ascent that Stepanek could not finish. Nine years later, a record appears in a map of an Italian expedition in which the discovery of a body is entered next to a cross at 6650 meters. Nevertheless there were many climbers who tried to find it without achieving its purpose.
