We did a study of regions and countries with the greatest potential and concluded that Asia, especially China and India, and Latin America are the regions where we have to be. There are five key countries in Latin America where we seek to grow: Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Mexico, where we see a sustained GDP growth, which makes them interesting for the hotel business, said Daniel del Olmo, Vice President and General Manager for Latin Wyndham Hotel Group of America, headquartered in New Jersey.
We are talking in Argentina with local entrepreneurs and brands to partner and develop hotels in Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Cordoba. Some negotiations are well advanced, other starters, Del Olmo said on a visit to Buenos Aires, where he met with investors.
Specifically with marks for executives Tryp (medium-and high-end European style) and Ramada (average, more American style), they plan to expand in Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Cordoba. Today, already runs a Tryp in downtown Buenos Aires and a Ramada in Vicente Lopez. Meanwhile, Super 8 would be aimed at budget hotels ($ 50 to $ 60) per night on the roads, for tourists who are passing to people working on the road as truckers.
Finally, we also seek to develop the brand three star Days Inn (u $ s 80) in primary and secondary cities. Meanwhile, Howard Johnson brand, also the group will continue its local expansion by Alberto Albamonte, who controls the master license since 1999 for the country.
To expand, Wyndham would be associated with Argentine businessmen who already have to build hotels or projects, which would provide recognition of the group’s brands globally, with its international sales force, and in some cases the hotel management. Wyndham Hotels 7,220 controls 15 brands in 66 countries, of which 103 are in Latin America and 25 in Argentina.
