On Thursday February 23 will be held the traditional Grape Stomp in Mendoza Plaza Shopping. The event will have free admission, will be held from 21 on the west beach of the mall.
Vintage Mendoza Plaza Shopping will feature performances by Los Enanitos Verdes, plus the presentation of local folk duo Orozco-Barrientos.
As is traditional in Mendoza, the 18 departmental Queens will sponsor their Virreinas, among which the jury will choose the winner of the Grape Stomp. Candidates to the scepter in large presses dance on stage and extract juice the grapes Cabernet.
Presenting Los Enanitos Verdes, his unpublished work, will be one of the great attractions of the festival. The band formed here in 1979 and integrated by Marciano Cantero and Felipe Staiti (founding members), add in the continental traveled to Jota Morelli and Juan Pablo Staiti.
Los Enanitos Verdes are currently preparing material for his new album, which will be introduced this year. The last performance of the band in our province was in 2010 and that is why they are expected to have a large audience in the Shopping enjoying the Dwarves.
Recently Mendoza’s band was called to participate in a tribute album to the legendary American rock band whose name can not yet reveal.
Ding Orozco Mendoza and Fernando Barrientos bring folk touch to the evening. This duo was unveiled to the public and the international review in February 2003, at the festival of Viña del Mar, Chile, to get the first (Silver Gull) award for best folk song with its theme “Painted in” . From this Barrientos Orozco and have shared the stage with outstanding figures of the national scene as Mercedes Sosa and León Giego and are also produced by Gustavo Santaolalla-winning.
Mendoza Plaza Shopping, in its 20th anniversary, is proud to carry out a new edition of this festival for the whole family. Especially considering that the Grape Stomp rescues one of the most noble and authentic traditions of Vendimia.-
