Every year, between the months of September, October and November in General Alvear remembers the gaucho Juan Bairoletto, an icon of popular culture in Cordoba, San Luis, San Juan and Mendoza, who died on September 14, 1941 and importance remains still valid today. The months of September and October together activities related to the commemoration of his life, and the central meeting date varies, but is usually performed in the month of November.
The commemoration takes place since 2003, in which proposals evaluated by a committee, with the participation of many social institutions were presented. The program of activities includes a sample related to Juan Bairoletto and a festival of Creole skills, usually organized by the Federation Gaucha General Alvear.
Other activities include theater workshops, academic activities, performances of folk dances and shows academies, and a plastic and literary contest on Bairoletto.
