Birds that we are used to seeing in Potrerillos with different colors, shapes and songs are not mere ornaments of nature, but their presence in our environment ensures healthy character, and therefore we will have a healthy life. The condors or vultures younger brothers, for example, are responsible for cleaning up the environment by feeding on dead decaying animals and guarantee thus eliminating a source of infection present in nature. Birds that eat insects (insectivorous), control pests that would otherwise be present in the absence of the predator that feeds them. Granivorous birds feeding on grain and seed dispersal guarantee and thus even the presence of native plants around Potrerillos avoiding desertification and soil erosion. Raptors protect us from disease and accidents to maintain contraladas populations of mice and snakes that feed. For all the above is that there are national and provincial laws and municipal ordinances that protect them. Bylaw No. 786/08 states of cultural and ecological conservation of birds and watching in Potrerillos interest. Wild birds must be free of Potrerillos. They should not be persecuted, caged, injured, much less killed. How different it would be these valley without their chants and their flights. It is everyone’s duty to look after them directly or indirectly. Just be careful not attack them or to create a peaceful atmosphere so that they can approach is sufficient. Help placing feeders and birdbaths to make your visits more frequent, the same way it is possible to place homes for nesting in gardens. There Potrerillos a group of people dedicated to the observation and care of the birds that make the Bird Observers Club Potrerillos.
