The Book Fair takes place in late September and throughout the month of October at the Cultural Space Julio Le Parc, Mendoza. This is one of the most important events of the year takes place in several parts of the country. For a month and a half the space remains packed stands, and is visited by important personalities of culture. In addition, sale and production of books is done, and simultaneously all kinds of events related to literature and culture develop.
Fair opening ceremony includes a ribbon-cutting, by the governor of the province during the last week of September. Throughout this week and throughout the month of October out literature seminars, drawing, writing, cartoons, editorials and even on major national writers take. There are also workshops and spaces entirely dedicated to children’s books.
Other activities include narratives and stories by organizations and social groups, and even dance and music in different rooms that make up the cultural center. Also project films and plays are performed in different scenarios. Book presentations are part of the most important events since the Fair provides an ideal context to perform them.
Lectures, talks and workshops will also take place throughout the month and include literacy classes, drawing, writing and theater. Another important event is the Festival of Poetry of Mendoza, held within the framework of the fair. In addition to the wide range of activities offered by the space, one of the biggest attractions is the visit of important personalities of culture and national literature. They come to give lectures and conferences, presenting books and even give workshops.
