Mendoza Projecta Festival takes place in early November in the city of Mendoza. This is a forum for exchange between directors and filmmakers in the province and the country, inspired by the director Leonardo Favio. It is a very new festival, which was created as a tribute to the film director of native Mendoza after his death.
It is an event that mixes both international cinema and national, and offers prizes in different categories to give recognition to the work of the filmmakers, including: MenDoc for documentaries made in the region of New Cuyo and Films in Progress for movies in process. The idea is to place screens in all departments of the province to do so omnipresent and spread.
For the winners and awarding of statuettes, during the first edition of the festival will be held a contest to design the statuette Leonardo Favio, in which many artists and sculptors from Mendoza participated with their designs. Another space within the festival, during the first edition was the dream dream, where filmmakers and authors of audiovisual scene expressed their views on various issues in the field of audiovisual reflection on the reality in the region. With special guests, actors and directors from all over the country, talks and training in public spaces in Mendoza, and tributes to different soundtracks from movies or emerging Mendoza big productions are offered.
