The Chamber Music Festival takes place for some years in the city of Mendoza, in mid-November. It is an event that combines concerts violin, winds, guitar and best of chamber music in a common space, attracting musicians from all parts of the province of Mendoza. You have two edits but the third is underway, and it appears that is a festival that is here to stay.
Among the shows on offer during the festival are the commented concerts, flutes and wind orchestras, guitar ensembles and lyrical opera evenings. Baroque and classical music mixes with the new sounds and contemporary music, composed especially because a jury selects all participating musicians, making sure there is variety. Lectures and music workshops are also available.
The event is organized by the Municipality of the city along with the Independent Movement of Interpreters Mendocinos. It takes place in different areas of the city of Mendoza, mostly in municipal theaters, museums and municipal halls. The artists present their projects at the Ministry of Culture, and then choose the performers involved.
The categories are: duos to sextets instrumental chamber music and / or voice, of which five are selected duets, two trios, one quartet, one quintet and one sextet. The jury is composed by different musicians and music teachers at the University of Cuyo, in addition to the Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city. The concerts are free, and the festival runs for a week.
