Bonarda Festival takes place since some years ago in the town of San Martin, Mendoza. The city is located 45 km from the capital of the province, and its name refers to the variety of grape from which red wine is produced. The festival is one of the newest acquisitions vendimial calendar, and is dated during the last week of March.
The venue is the Teatro Griego Juan Pablo II, located in the heart of Agnesi Park, and located on the stage there (which was expanded recently) parade local, regional and national bands of different genres. What began as a folk show, popular music and quartet became a party that encompasses many different, styles and even has the starring role of an international artist who closes the festival.
However, popular music remains the main spice of this celebration, which has the best tropical rhythms and quartet during his last day, to finish dancing. The event runs for three nights and round on 21, 22 and 23 March. Admission is usually free as though a nonperishable food are asked to contribute to social organizations in the region.
As part of the harvest and wine production, so characteristic of the province, the festival since its inception is an opportunity for regional artists to display their artistic productions and promote, in front of a large audience that every year gets bigger in number.
