The Pa’Labrar International Storytelling Festival is an event that takes place in the city of Mendoza during the month of August. It is part of a group of 14 traveling festivals held in different parts of the country. Besides there Pa’Labrar in Mendoza Words, words less in Buenos Aires, the scene of the Word in San Rafael and say say in Bariloche, among many others.
The event consists of a group of storytellers who choose different public arenas to read, tell or act out stories. Admission is usually free and participate freely and important personalities of the literature of Mendoza. The functions are performed in schools, bars, theaters and concert halls throughout the city, and even in the cemetery, which is meant to section Tales of Terror and Mystery.
Additional activities such as storytelling workshops dedicated to teachers, actors, librarians and anyone interested in the art of storytelling take place. The peculiarity of this festival is that it is international, so too are the largest guest storytellers from different countries such as Chile, Colombia and even Spain to share with the kids, and many fantastic and funny stories.
Our country is part of the Latin American and Latin American circuit storytelling, and the Festival takes place since 2002. Only in 2011 came to the province of Mendoza, but since then every year we have a new edition. Part of the so-called contemporary storytelling stage, an evolution of the traditional oral story that has existed since time immemorial.
