The International Puppet Festival The Cuyanito is an event that takes place every year during the winter holidays in July, and covers the entire region of Cuyo. Over 15 years, the festival takes place, and consequently takes more than 15 edits. The provinces that host the event are San Luis, San Juan and Mendoza. It is a festival that aims at children, but no less entertaining for the whole family. Who said that the puppets are just for kids?
The Cuyanito brings artists from all over the world. Ensembles participated in previous editions of Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and Chile, and even more remote countries such as India and Spain. No longer participate national troupes from different provinces like Neuquén, Córdoba, Chaco, Buenos Aires and the region of Cuyo, with San Luis and San Juan.
Besides performed puppet theater workshops take place as the construction and manipulation of puppets, for anyone interested in this art. Musical events with great local artists, street interventions, street musicians and previous lives where everything announces happen during the festival are also held.
In addition to Mendoza, Godoy Cruz and other departments, Junín, La Paz and San Carlos are venue. As international and of great magnitude, usually it lasts about twenty days during the month of July. The festival seeks to entertain the kids but also transmit values that are as important issues in their development.
