The Provincial Cherry Festival is held every year during the month of December, in the district of Villa Flores Tunuyán belonging to the province of Mendoza. The main event is the election of the Queen Provincial Cherry, but music and art by local artists shows are also held in a cheerful and folk tone.
The event begins with the White Way of the Queens in which current Harvest queens, Cherry Tonada and paraded before the public, along with the candidates for the new term. And disclosed the candidates for the scepter, which are presented and invite the public to participate in the events scheduled for every day of the festival.
During the Election Day, various music shows happen, and flourish as the election of the Queen takes place. Delivery of taxes and the coronation is performed by the department Tunuyán Queens. The party is the second largest department together with the Provincial Party of the tune, so in 2009 it was officially declared Provincial Party.
The event is held for over 25 years and started as a gathering of a group of neighbors, with the aim of giving representation to the community, their customs and their work. The first was called Cherry Festival and took place in 1989, and since then is a space that generates areas for social and cultural development and even for the promotion of crafts and food.
