GRAND PRIX A.MA.VET (ALL YEAR ROUND)

The Association Marathoners Veterans of Mendoza , was born in 1995, from the need for veteran athletes in the province to participate in street tests with rules for athletes of age and where the divided categories are respected every five years of age. This led to the creation of this non-profit institution, with jurisdiction throughout the province of Mendoza. In 1997, the board of directors obtained legal status, which is valid until the date of the date.
The association is affiliated with the Argentine Confederation of Veteran Athletes (CAVRA), an achievement that is very important, since the members of A.MA.VET are qualified to participate in national and international events, and have right to be registered and appear in the statistics of the “World Veteranía”. From its beginnings, this institution housed the special category or with different capacities, a fact that was not frequent in those times.
Later, in 2003, at the initiative of the A.MA.VET institutions, Centro Italiano de Tupungato, Rivadavia Sports Center, Municipality of Junín and the National University of Cuyo, he reorganized the former Mendocina Athletic Federation, through the legal denomination of Mendocina Friends of Athletics Association (AMA), which brings together all the entities that practice this noble sport throughout the province of Mendoza.
Once the concern was expressed, the First GrandPrix of Veteran Marathoners was organized with athletic street and field tests that crosses different points of the province.
Teson and perseverance have been from the beginning the slogans of work, do good and act correctly, compete honestly, respect the athlete, travel Mendoza with the skills and encourage the participation of athletes in provincial, national and international events. In a word, camaraderie, which has been gestated through 22 years of uninterrupted work in good of the athletic mendocino, through a non-governmental institution that has its historical validity in an amateur service structure for the good of the athlete. That is the end of the existence of A.MA.VET.
Today, the annual schedule consists of ten races (one per month), from February to November.
