The name says it all. An untamed place for a spirit that appreciates as such. A trip to the most spectacular places to discover how far you can go; and if the legs are ready to face it, Mendoza Indomit Ultra Trail proposes a trip to the high peaks of Tunuyán, in the Uco Valley, where mountain rivers, trails and lots of snow await.
The first edition of Indomit in Mendoza was in 2015. After two successful editions in Potrerillos, a third edition was held that began in the Manzano Histórico and covered the entire Uco Valley, with six distances for all tastes: 12k, 21k, 35k, 50k, 80k and 100k. Indomit UT has ITRA (International Trailrunning Association) certification for distances of 100K (5 points), 80K (4 points) 50K (3 points) and 35K (2 points).
The Provincial Reserve of Manzano Histórico is located at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level, 120 kilometers from the city of Mendoza and only 40 kilometers from the city of Tunuyán. With an approximate area of 1000 hectares, it houses the historic Sanmartiniano Monument, where General José de San Martín rested after his return from the campaign to Chile.
It is also a tourist area, very close to the El Portillo mountain pass, anchored in the eastern sector of the Cordillera del Portillo in the Cordillera Frontal, with heights reaching 5000 and 6000 masl and a very old pre-Cambrian and Paleozoic massif.
The 100-kilometer circuit enters the Cajón de Arenales, through one of the legendary roads of the Andes Mountains, in a wild area surrounded by mountains with snowy peaks, reaching the Antonio Scaravelli Refuge – also called Real de la Mula Dead – about 3,200 meters above sea level. A place that every time attracts more tourists from all over the world, for its beauty, for being a necessary step to access the valleys and hills of the area and for the practice of trekking and Nordic skiing, in a region that still remains practically Virgin.
Anyway, all distances, from the shortest to the Ultras consist of circuits composed of mountains, trails and roads, away from the asphalt of the city, with important ascents and indomitable descents. Everyone has their share of adventure.
Before and after the competition, you can taste wines from several of the sponsors of the event.
The previous days the Expo Ultra Trail is held, a place designed exclusively for lovers of the mountain, where you can buy everything you need for the race and meet new brands and products, dehydrated fruit stands and food products for runners; Peruvian cotton technical clothing for trail and other accessories of recognized international brands.
