The Mendotaku is a festival of Japanese culture and anime that takes place every year, twice a year, in the City of Mendoza. The meeting is organized by the group Akai Chou (Butterfly Crimson) together with the Municipality of the City of Mendoza and the Centre for Argentine-Japanese Cultural Exchange Mendoza.
In it many related to Japanese culture, manga, anime and cosplay activities unfolds. Among them is the Cosplay contest, where people dress up as characters from Japanese anime and manga and choose the best costume. Video game tournaments and RPGs and strategy, martial arts demonstrations and competitions Oriental choreographed dances are also performed.
Other activities include lectures and workshops, and exhibitions of Origami. The competitions, in addition to Cosplay, have individual or team modes and can be choreographed dancing and drawing and AMV (Anime Music Video). The latter technique involves videos that have different frames of animated series. There is also room for karaoke.
During the meeting, the music stops not take place, appearing related to Japanese culture and music bands, and gastronomy: a stand of Asian Food for everyone who wants to try some Asian food is installed. The date of the event is very variable, and is usually performed twice a year. Their popularity grows each year, so that brings together many fans of Asian culture and encouraged.
