With the presence of the mayor of Tupungato, Joaquín Rodríguez, Minister of Tourism, Javier Espina and his cabinet worked specific issues relating to the sector in the region. Infrastructure, promotion, supervision and training were some of the highlights.
As part of the regional meetings that keeps the head of the ministry, Javier Espina, with the leaders of the tourism sector, both public and private, on Tuesday March 27 corresponding to the Valle de Uco was performed. Tourism Directors of municipalities, representatives of chambers, associations, operators, concerning the culinary, hotel, wine bars industry owners, tour guides, including those discussed aspects related to tourism development in the region.
In this sense, Thorn opened the day by stressing the importance of the meeting. This methodology will maintain the time since the joint task with municipalities and industry benchmark allows us to address issues that are related to tourism development in the province and seek possible solutions jointly.
With regard to the requirements of service providers, the head of the Tourism Portfolio noted that there is a demand for all regions in terms of promotion. This is natural and, therefore, the Ministry have a vast program in terms of promotion on major emitters tourism centers such as Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Santa Fe, Chile and have now started a strong promotion in the Brazilian market.
During the day also exposed what tourists are looking for in terms of products that are fun and consolidated as wine, food, adventure, horseback riding, snow, stood out among others. What we are looking at these meetings is that all providers cooperate and work together to promote tourism in the region as a whole, without differentiation of departments, offering a more unified and a single message, said Espina.
Meanwhile, Joaquín Rodríguez stressed the importance of the presence of the Cabinet of Tourism. These meetings enable working industry needs and responding to the concerns of providers.
Today we are working the three municipalities together to strengthen the region and among all sell the brand as a destination Valle de Uco. It is important for us that a tourist come and stay in region 4 or 5 days exploring the three departments.
Another of the highlights was related to tourism services in which we will work together in the investigation and enforcement to combat the informal sector.
Easter in the region
When asked about reservations for Easter holidays, Thorn remarked habit change that has occurred in the tourists. Visitors increasingly choose less extensive holiday but makes shorter and sometimes breaks throughout the year, this is a great benefit to Mendoza.
Today tourism increasingly growing in the province and this is due to the amount of long weekends that allow people want to visit the attractions of Mendoza, the official concluded.
