This museum was created by Professor Manuel Tellechea who in 1918 began to collect the pieces of the heritage that now make up the museum, which was officially opened in the year 1935 began. Its collections cover the following areas: Mineralogy, Petrography (an outstanding exhibit of argentine petroleum), Palaeontology, Archaeology, History from the region, and products from primary elaboration of natural non renewable resources. It algo has an specialized library with more than 3,000 books.
