* Museum of the Cuyano Past – Dr. Edmundo Correas. Montevideo 544. Phone: (0261) 423-6031. The mansion where it works is a National Historic Monument and houses a collection of historical documents and objects connected with the history of Mendoza.
* Archaeological Museum of the Facultad de Filosofia y Letras. Fac. De Filosofia y Letras (basement), Ciudad Universitaria. Phone: (0261) 425-3010. It houses collections of pre-Columbian objects.
* Museum of the Foundation Area. Beltran and Videla Castillo. Phone: (0261) 425-6927. Opened in 1993 at the same site as Pedro del Castillo chose to found the city, the Museum of the Foundation Area invites visitors to learn about all the peculiarities of the old Mendoza, from its foundation 1561 until its destruction due to the earthquake of 1861. There are archaeological finds, extensive documentation and models reflecting the life of Mendoza of yesteryear.

This is one of the most important of Cuyo.
