La, the longest in the country and one of the largest in the world, National Route 40 is from a few days ago an issue of own stamps, launched by the Argentine Post Office and the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation. This issue contains 11 postmark illustrating the path of the famous road, 5,244 km long, which amounts to nearly a thousand kilometers extension of the famous Route 66 crossing (currently only disjointed sections are preserved) the United States of America from east to west. The National Highway route created in 1935 playing sixty towns, crosses 18 major rivers, crosses 236 bridges, climbs from sea level to almost 5,000 meters and connects with 27 mountain passes, the main centers of southern skiing, paleontological deposits, 20 reservations natural, national parks and five World Heritage sites (of nine in the country).
