The church of the Virgen de la Carrodilla is located in the department of Luján de Cuyo in a place called La Carrodilla.
Every year there is a liturgical event in its form and religious in its essence, thanking God for the fruits received, with the mediation of the Virgen de la Carrodilla.
The origin of the Blessing was established in Mendoza as a custom of the peasants, who dedicated their fruit offering to some nearby image at the end of the year of work.
The first time the celebration was held (1938) an enormous paila was blessed with many fruits. Both the place and the time were modified on different occasions.
In 1939 one of the constituent parts of the act was added, in homage to the grape picker.
It consists of a rustic frame, made with the wood of a plow, which holds a grate.
The humble tool symbolizes the man who tills the earth, the axis of celebration.
The governor of the Province is in charge of giving the blows to the fence, remembering the way it was called in the field at rest, at noon and at sunset.
With the hammer blows, each year, the rest and the celebration are summoned and the new wine is tasted.
