The construction of the Potrerillos Dam Reservoir region attracted over 50 species of birds that were not seen by the lack of suitable habitat for them as it is a mirror of water with food. These six species of herons, ducks nine, four species of grebe are (seem ducks but instead of having it flat and wide beak and legs are tapered not have webbed fingers but are lobed). They can now be seen to biguá, three species of coots, swans neck Black, two species of gulls, the actual uterus and other species such as terns, storks and pullets. Remarkable is the presence of a species of sandpiper, three Yellowlegs and one of phalaropes, all from the northern hemisphere. Nest during the Arctic summer in Arctic tundras of Alaska, Canada, North America and Greenland, and then begin your journey for three months to get to Argentina, some of them at Potrerillos reservoir where they can be observed from September onwards and much of the summer. All these birds are part of the Natural Heritage Valley Potrerillos Mendoza and hence therefore it is the duty of all residents, tourists and Mendoza look after them. Unfortunately it is common to see cars lose children and also a large immediately start throwing stones at the ducks. This is an essential habit to banish not be afraid to approach as witnessed and respectfully ask please do not harm the animals. That action may save the life of a being who can not defend himself. Potrerillos Dam Reservoir with your birds are part of the tourist attraction of the region. If we respect and care increasingly come to make more beautiful and joyful life.
