Juan Giol, Bautista Gargantini and Pascual Toso came from Europe to Argentine around 1880 and settled in Mendoza. They associated and established their first winery, being really pioneers of the argentine wine industry.
At present they have 180 ha of vineyards at San Carlos, a district at the foot of the Andes range, between 1000 and 1200 mts over sea level; the soil is alluvial, the texture is stony, irrigated by water coming from the melting of the snow capped high peaks and glaciers of the Andes. The vineyards have first quality varieties like Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Chenin and Semillon.
