The wines at Terrazas de los Andes are produced in a winery from 1898 with a Spanish style, located in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Originally, the winery Terrazas de los Andes was built with bricks made from local soil of Mendoza, using an improvised mortar with lime and sand, because at that time there did not exist cement produced in Argentina. The contemporary building exhibits the original decisions taken in relation to the materials, considering it is located below the ground level, where a long time before had been the source of dirt to build the bricks.
Another characteristic details of this winery are the arches, inspired in the southern Spain. The cave consists of six buildings; each one is 70 metres long (230 feet) and 8 metres wide (26 feet).
The winery and vineyards are open for visits and you will be able to enjoy a tasting Monday through Friday. Visiting hours are: 10:00 am- 12:00 pm- 3:00 pm, always with prior reservation.
