The Summer Vendimia is a program of cultural events organized by the Municipality of Mendoza, in the context of the vintage, and covers activities that take place throughout the month of January or even February and March, culminating in the National Vendimia Festival. The events are aimed at the whole family, with activities for the kids, for youth and adults.
The calendar changes every year, but there are some activities that already have several editions perform. Featuring the Only Children event, that includes child plays with puppets and different types of theater. It takes place outdoors, in the park Gral. San Martin, on Saturdays and Sundays in January and most of February.
It also forms part of the activities vendimiales Americanto, which takes place in early December, and the federal Week where the different departments of the province show their heritage and tradition. Other events include tributes to great Argentinian artists like Gustavo Cerati and Luis Alberto Spinetta, in which Mendoza’s most renowned artists perform their songs on a big stage. They not left out, also in the musical framework, MendoRock and Mendo Dance, rescuing both popular dances like the provincial music by regional artists.
Another important activity is the Serenades or Hundred Serenades, which rescues the value and tradition of musicians cuyanos offering folklore, tunes, cuecas and cats. The proposal is to generate spontaneous expression in public spaces such as pedestrian areas, bars, rows of banks, radios, emblematic corners and even shopping centers. Also, to not ignore the cinema, films are shown in public spaces under the name Cinema in the Park, with free admission and for the whole family.
