The Wine Rock Tour is a rock festival held in the winery Monteviejo, located in the heart of Valle de Uco Tunuyán, during the month of May. Every year hundreds of people come to live this festival that combines rock, wine, food and an atmosphere of friends in a context of beauty, vineyards and mountains. Its stage, since it began in 2011, had the presence of artists like Catupecu Machu, Los Pericos and Pedro Aznar.
The festival stretches over a whole day, from early until dusk in front of the Cordón del Plata. He was awarded the gold medal in Art and Culture at the Best of Mendoza’s Wine Tourism awards in the edition of 2014, which also was certified Neutral Carbon Event for being the first event of Argentina in measuring its environmental impact in relation to Carbon Footprint.
The creator and organizer of this festival is the winemaker Marcelo Pelleriti, who Monteviejo demists in the winery and is a rock fan. The event has the support of the Ministry of Tourism of Mendoza, the Great Wine Capitals Global Network, the Mendoza Wine Fund and several companies in the province. As a complement, the “Plus + Art” exhibition, which brings together artistic activities of various branches is performed: photographic exhibitions, ceramic sculptures, recycled materials, contemporary jewelry, etc.
During the festival you can access the tasting of many regional wines, and a food court is also installed by renowned chefs, where they can be purchased typical regional dishes: beef empanadas, locro, meat to the pot and more.
