* San Isidro
Starting from El Challao you can cross some of the “biological Pampas” until you reach the town of Potrerillos.
* Ruta 13.
This circuit is characterized primarily by having a rugged landscape, with a vegetation typical from deserts. It has some parts of compacted dirt road and some with gravel, and it provides truly spectacular views. Through a 92-kilometre trip, you will be able to get to the tourist Village of Uspallata, on the way you see both rural landscapes and tourism ventures that offer some support to the adventure.
The most attractive locations in this route are:
– Agua de las Chilcas
The first ranch found when you take the route from the head town of Las Heras; there are farms and the possibility of camping.
– Caracoles de las Chilcas
It is a gravel road and the most significant ascent of this tour.
– Vista amica
This is a viewpoint where you can see the whole Mendoza plain.
– Casa de Piedraedra
This is a farm where you can appreciate closely the native flora and fauna.
– Cruz de Paramillo
This hill is located in the greatest height of the Front Range of the Andes Mountains. There is a large cross that is a reminder of the legendary “Gaucho Cubillos”, part of the traditional cultural of Mendoza.
– Cerro Siete Colores
Its name comes from the diversity of colours, which depending on the sunlight vary allowing an imaginative view of shapes of animal and humans due to the various reflections.
* Blanco Encalada
This is the ideal site for the practice of horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, there are places to see the flora and fauna.
* La Crucesita
This is a farm that can be reached by a dirt road, which provides services for rural and adventure tourism.
* Alvarez Condarco
There are located the piped channels that come from the Potrerillos Reservoir. From this point, downstream, the channels get to the “New Mendoza River” with crystalline waters and the possibility of sport fishing.
* Villa Suiza
It is known by this name due to its inhabitants who came from Switzerland and formed a colony there. It is famous for its excellent cuisine, where you can taste home made products and Creole food, as well as typical Swiss meals.
