After crossing the Andes charming mountain villages, which goes towards the Uco Valley, the landscape changes and shows hillocks with pastures and vegetables orchards. The way continues near the snowy range of mountains and near the imposing Tupungato Hills.
After going 19Km to the South, reaches Luján de Cuyo town, an important farming and industrial department, which experienced a great development, especially because of the construction of the distributing dam in addition to the irrigation work done, that became it the most relevant area in the Wine Roads.
Lavalle is recognized for its cultural tourism, its traditions, typical gastronomy, creole skills and its religious parties. It is in this department of the Province, that the Huarpes community is settled who still preserve many of their unique customs and traditions.
The “Circuit San Rafael” starts in San Rafael city, which provides excellent infra structure as well as a diversified offer of services. It is formed also by the Cañón del Atuel, and other dams and reservoirs made by Man in order to produce electric energy and to organize the irrigation system, where are available many leisure and viticulture activities.

It is also a place rich in culture, history and traditions where there are museums, national festivals and in winter, the famous ski resort Las Leñas.
General Alvear is a modern city, headquarters of the National Day celebration of cattle industry and the Calf. It also has other places to go as natural sites, industrial establisments and museums in adition to the generous river of the same name, for fishing enthusiasts.
